Binding: VHS Tape A bizarre but interesting story about a man whose entire life is a 24-hour television show. Everybody on earth knows it except for him. Many critics love this movie because they like the notion that reality is an illusion and the mind is impotent to know anything. The real value of this movie lies in its ability to show the mind's competence, as demonstrated by the character's eventual realization of the illusion. It also illustrates the value of the individual's right to his own life -- and what happens when those rights are ignored. Jim Carrey (the star) has real talent. It's too bad he was born in an age where greatness is not in very high demand.
