A young man comes to terms with the death of his brother in the context of dealing with a cold mother, a weak father, and his own suicidal emotions. Excellent acting and directing, and although not uplifting somewhat hopeful as the main character, Conrad (played by Timothy Hutton), successfully uses psychotherapy to challenge his thinking and starts to move past the neuroses of his family.
