Did Christians Re-Elect Bush?

I am sick of hearing the post-election spin about how the evangelical Christians decided the presidential election. I don't doubt they played a role, but people didn't vote for President George W. Bush only because they are Christian and he is likewise religious. I, for one, would much prefer a secular president who thoroughly respects the separation of church and state more than President Bush does. For this reason, I am glad the Democratic Party exists (in the minority) to keep the president in line. But I am glad President Bush won because terrorism was correctly presented as the No. 1 issue in this election. It's not that Bush has done a spectacular job against terrorism so far. But of the two candidates, he was the only one who seemed to actually adhere to the view that the use of American military force is morally justified. I am offended by the media elites now insisting that were it not for the religious right, Bush would not have a second term. I do not pray to a God, and I do not go to church. I know that the only way for the United States to survive is to defend itself, to stockpile as many weapons (nuclear included) as possible, and to aggressively go after every single terrorist state on Earth. This is not a time for praying; it's a time for acting.
