In any society, there are those who do the heavy lifting.
They're always the minority. And, they're not motivated by concern for all; they're motivated by self-interest. They might (or might not) care about concern for all, but in all cases, by definition, self-interest is present. So don't condemn self-interest, at least if you want to live in a society where the most able, and the most willing, do much of the heavy lifting. Don't look to politics for these individuals--because politicians seize and redistribute, not create. Don't assume these heavy lifters are famous, either. Some are, but others aren't. Support the inner strength and motivation of these heavy lifters. You need them much more than they need you.
