Jealousy and envy make no rational sense. If someone else accomplished something you cannot, then there's nothing you can do about it. Why be bothered by it? Also, the fact that you cannot do something says nothing whatsoever about what you can do. Most weaknesses imply a corresponding strength. If Joe did something you cannot, and this shows a weakness in you--then what's your strength? People compensate for their weaknesses by developing strengths. Also, Joe's accomplishment could be inspirational. The fact that he did it doesn't prove you can't do it. And the fact you haven't done it yet is not proof that you cannot ever do it. Jealousy and envy are emotions that make no sense. They don't stand up to the scrutiny of rational thought. And they bring you down.
