People who are certain of nothing fail to appreciate the power of facts, reality and logic. People who are certain of everything likewise fail to appreciate the power of facts, reality and logic. Those who feel, "Who am I to judge?" exclude themselves from the realm of understanding, comprehension and, because of that, from self-esteem. Those who are certain of everything think they have found a short-cut to self-esteem, and possess a phony sort of self-esteem that comes across as arrogance or "too much" confidence. But each type of person, the humble and the arrogant--however unlike each other on the surface--are really guilty of the same basic, fundamental error.
