Michelle Obama's remarks that she was never proud of her country until her husband verged on gaining major political power are interesting and revealing.

People like her don't love what their country stands for; they only like power. She's proud if her husband achieves power, while ashamed if someone else representing the same policies (Hillary Clinton) wins. If Obama wins and imposes socialism on the country and pacifism on the military, it's an opportunity to feel pride. Yet if Hillary wins and imposes the exact same policies, it's somehow a cause for shame. And really--she must understand that even if John McCain wins, things won't be all that much different than if there were a Democrat in the White House, except that conventional warfare (as opposed to defeating terrorists with genuine firepower) will be the rule of the day.

I don't like Michelle Obama's remarks, but I'm glad that she found her voice and spoke her mind about what she thinks. It gives the people who support her husband and the other major candidates like him a taste of what they voted for. A majority of Americans (not only Democrats) are demanding a strong turn to the left ... and they're already getting it.
