I just wanted to acknowledge and thank you for the great job you are doing.
Your Daily Dose of Reason has been excellent of late. You are putting into words my thoughts. This has helped me to be able to clarify my position on current issues like health care, the economy, government's over regulatory state etc. with people who care to discuss these issues with me.
Keep up the good work. |

I was reading your article in the Delaware State News ["Terrorism Denial Syndrome" 11/27/10]. All I can tell you is that it's a very, very good article ... I really don't feel safe with this President at all. For some reason, he just doesn't have the fight that he really needs to in dealing with these countries. I'm watching the thing with North Korea, and [the news] said he was out playing basketball. I'm going to cut your article out, and continue to keep it and frame it! God bless you. |

Dr. Hurd: Keep doing what you're doing. Your articles are as much a wake-up call as showering your privates with mentholated soap on a wire-haired brush!! |

I am an avid reader of your column in the (Delaware) Coast Press, and just want to thank you for all the wonderful insights you share regarding human nature, through the eyes of a psychologist. I have great respect for what you do ... One my goals in life is to gain a better understanding of myself and those around me. Again, thank you for your extraordinary community service. |

I am just starting to read about Objectivism and Ayn Rand and beginning to make some stark realizations about my life. You have done so much to help me through your website. As I read through your site and begin to learn to think more rationally and logically I know I can improve my life for the better. |

Hi, I just thought I would drop you a note and share this with you. I have an article from the April 21st edition of the Coast Press (think that was the publication -- it's cut off!) My mom sent it to me ... Your column that edition was about listening to yourself on important issues ... at the time she sent it I was in therapy and working through some co-dependency issues. I have saved the article and carry it in my planner to remind me that I should rely on myself first for decisions and that even when others might disagree with my choices if I feel I am making the best decision for myself that is what matters. I just wanted to let you know that the column clipping has acted as a reminder of wise words for me. I'm glad my mom read it and thought to share it with me and I wanted to share with you the impact it made on me. I pulled it out today and reread it :) |

I can’t even begin to describe how refreshing your work is ... Your blog hits the nail on the head regarding the indivisible relationship between philosophy / politics and mental health. Most everyone I know can’t seem to wrap their head around how someone “in my role” could be so pro-capitalist, pro-individual – you name it. My response to that is, How could anyone not be?! Optimal mental health springs from healthy self-esteem… and you can’t have that without the “self.” Seems pretty basic to me, but it’s a constant uphill battle in terms of dealing with the wider mental health community. |

Thanks very much for your excellent newsletters. I enjoy every one of them and frequently pass them on to my teen-age son to read as well. It's very comforting to know that there are at least a few other reasonable minds out there. |

"Just calling to congratulate you on your last two articles. You are so right on. The 'Road Rage' article was great, and you know, if people would take responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming everybody else, we would be approaching heaven on Earth here. Also your current article again was right on -- the fallacy of "helping." So you're doing a great job and I encourage it. I encourage everyone to read your articles and see what they think. They are really good. Thanks a lot, and keep doing a good job!" |
